1. i would start with a name, branch it out, what does the character like, who/what does s/he hate?
2. think of this caracters relations, who does s/he like? do they have both parents? if so what are they like? any sibilings? teachers? friends? enemys?
3. build out the personalitys of each one of the parents, friends, teachers, sibilings or anyother person. follow the first 2 steps.
4. now, think of a plot, (i dont want to spoil anything in case one of you buys my book but, the problem in one of my upcoming books is my caracter, eg: lyn, is failing school, and is a part time actor, her father says that if her marks drop anymore than she must quit her acting corrier. so lyn desides to get a friend jessica to recomend a touter. jessica gives the number of the touter to lyn, when she calls it ends up to be her crush from school, percy winters. thou he is not a touter he starts helping lyn. what hapens when they end up falling in love?)
5. now put all your ideas on a paper, dosen't have to be neat, its only for you to see.
6. put evreything in order and think of a good sentance started for you, eg:
from nararaters pov:
Zoe Summers walked in with an inocent posture, her long hair swept over her left sholder and her hands hugging her school books towards her chest.
from the main caracters point of veiw:
I walking in to the basket ball cort with a ball at hand, i couldn't wait to show of my skills.
7. start trying to form a story, dont worry if it doesn't come fast, not even the best of authors can put together their stories in a snap of there fingers.
8. once you have a idea of where you want to start and you you think the plot line will go, re-write it.
9. (this tip is easyer for people who have been writing on paper) re write your story on a divice, see how you relize "oh! this doesn't make any sence! i repeted myself there! insted of this mini problem, i think i should use that one over here and this one over near the end!"
10. now that you have your story on a divice, re read it and make notes along the way, like, "okay, i dont know how, but i need to change this, it doesn't sound right"
11. make those changes and re read it just to make sure you didnt miss anything.
12. fix any grammer issues you haven't fixed.
13. get a friend, teacher, and/or parent to proof read incase you misses something. tell them to leave notes on the side.
14. fix those notes and again get a parent, teacher, and/or a friend to proof read (so basicly do steps 13, and 14 over about 3/4 times or more if needed.)
15. once you are satisfied than go to a publishing company (i would recomend a website called lulu because you can sell it online or buy copys and sell them to people, you also dont need to go throu a bunch of editors and publishers to get your work published. just a few easy steps, make the documents with your story on, you can make as many as needed and add them all, chose what size you want the book to be, and design the cover with the cover maker. send it in and walla! your a real author!)
